NataliaDrepina is one of my favorite photographs in Deviantart (and everywhere). Truth be told, I was surprised when I saw her latest work be this colorful.
The scenery is definitely breathtaking, where shades of orange, brown and yellow stand out more. The focus is on the girl, blurring out almost everything else, a technique this I have seen in so many works of Drepina. What makes this photo so special is that not only it autumn-inspired, but besides the vivid colors, still there is a melancholic tone, which our photographer never loses in her works. The girl is laying on the ground, looking for something, or waiting for something, that is not revealed to us, but despite the mystery, still somehow her anguish (probably provided by the poetic tone of autumn) is clearly evident. The first vision you get, while staring at this picture, is the vivacity of the colors, but deep down you realize this vivacity is just put there to hide the blurred dark edges of the picture, just like our soul feels sometimes. This may not be the message, but this picture gives me strong feelings, feelings I simply cannot ignore.
