Very nice Natalia!
Spread Some DA Love, No. 68
Welcome to the latest installment of my "favorite faves" -- the best, in my opinion, of works I faved recently. Some of these pieces you have no doubt seen; others you may be viewing for the first time. If you come across something you like please let the artist know -- give them some DA love in the form of faves and comments; also take a look at their galleries -- you might like their work so much you'll want to watch them!
Remember, everyone could use a little more DA love!
(Many of the works shown here are included in the galleries of two groups I founded. Visit Ugly-Mug-Portraits ugly-mug-portraits.deviantart.… and Surreal-Landscapes surreal-landscapes.deviantart.… to view even more incredible art created by very talented DA artists in need of your support!)
This is very intense! Love it
this is just so perfect
Honestly, these could be horror movie screenshots! You have this way of making things look quite creepy and almost ADVENTUROUS.
While all of Natalia's work here is haunting and exquisite, for me this image digs deeper. It moves away slightly from the pre-Rapahaelite/Gothic feel, and takes in something more primal. The intriguing ambiguity is still there - is the woman the mistress of the dream catcher, or its prisoner - a bad dream kept out, or a good dream kept in? Is she the sleeper, or are her eyes simply closed as she focuses her power. What I really like about it though is the utter assurance with which it sits with those questions. It isn't content to simply make you wonder - it asserts some kind of unity between the opposites, and invokes a greater "truth". The dream, the nightmare, the dreamer, the witch, the victim...all are held in a powerful stillness which is also epehemeral: you can feel the light about to change, the shadows abut to shift - The image and the moment will be lost, and its power dissipated into a particular choice, a particular reality. But for now, "while you are sleeping",nothing is happening, and everything is possible.
My favorite images are dark and almost creepy, while also being beautiful I love everything about this photo! Her expression and the lighting both work together to make the concept come to life!
wow... wonderfull shot!
Stunning! Love the overall atmosphere!
beautiful dreamy work.
i really like those dreamcatcher concepts .. i only can't get used to the blurry-zoom-thing, but im no photographer so ... maybe i would've tried to make it just blurry and not so much zooming. anyway i'm not sure ^^ cause you might have annother feeling when you think of dreaming as i have, so for me its kind of to aggressive
