This is a very visually gripping photograph with so much underlying meaning. I guess that's what really drew me in. Defenceless is the perfect title for this work. The quality of the photograph is really what makes this picture. The vintage noise of this almost reminds me of a polaroid you'd find in someone's basement. Her gesture is really what makes this photo feel "defenceless." The dress gives off this innocent, young girl feel while she's on her knees with dirty soles, almost the same color as the flooring. And the hand behind her back speaks to me very loud. As if to say, "I give up. Do what you must with me." Also, the fact that she really has no identity, such as a face or anything, really draws you that much deeper into this picture. It's relatable. A story could be made from this photograph. I believe when you can invoke such a feeling through this kind of art, you've done your job. And done it well.
Hi! This picture is amazing! With your permission, may I use it on my blog to accompany a post? My friend and I are working on a campus sexual awareness campaign, and our blog is about that. We will give you due credits, of course!
